Since we are 1 billion plus and counting, its such a wonderful time to be an Indian and be proud of it. Every nook and corner of this globe you will find one of our kinds. I would take this opportunity to give a gist of how far we have come in 60 flat years.
I remember as a child I used to listen to news of huge corporate battles happening in the so called "developed" world. It was really fascinating and I always longed for these battles to happen on our home turf. Time has changed so drastically that every MNC wants to get their share of the Indian market.
IT is the buzz word around in India and there are a lot of success stories to back it up. The likes of Infosys, Wipro, TCS et al. However the manufacturing, Infrastructure, Metal, Power and other industries are slowly getting their bearings in place and running.
Some of the high profile one being Tata-Corus, Arcelor-Mittal, Tata-Jaguar, Mallya-Spyker, Vodafone-Hutch, GMR-Intern just to mention a few. Besides these there are deals at various and varying levels occurring on a day to day basis. Today we are reaching out in every sector that the world has defined. We have the 3rd largest Army. 50 percent of our population is below the age of 25 and things will only get better.
Follow up:
If the Indians across the globe decide to strike work and head back home, every major economy in this world will grind to a halt. They cant do without us. We have managed to achieve this in only 60 years of our independence, where as most of the developed countries took centuries to get where they are today.
Yes we do have short comings, the major one being red tapism in the government sector. However with economist, scientist, engineers and youth getting actively involved in politics I see an end to these short comings soon, in the near future.
Besides this I and you who would read this article are only contributing towards getting India to its rightful position.
Its very difficult to put in a few paragraphs everything about us, however the take away point would be lets strive towards this collective goal of ours and get back our shine that was taken away from us. Always proud to be an Indian.
